Ready for my debut?? Bittersweet...this kit came out of the reality that every moment is bittersweet...a sweet moment that is sometimes gone before it can even be appreciated. It is only after reflecting on it or sometimes even through tragedy, that we are reminded of what we need to cherish. I can't tell you how hard that has hit me this last year with the passing of my dad. I wasn't ready. I didn't want to say goodbye. God took him, and I respect that..but dammit, I wasn't ready. Now I'm forced to look back at every memory I have of him as once was. It's completely and totally overwhelmingly bittersweet. But that's all we ever have...memories are all we can keep and that's why scrapbooking has become such an important thing for me. I hope that my kit will inspire you to tell the stories that you have.

MSA Article + News

School is finally in full swing and I'm getting into the routines of grading papers and running kids around to social activities. It still feels too hot to be so close to fall but I do love this time of year...it's full of possibilities. I've said this before, but the start of a school year feels more like the NEW year than January 1st. It's a new beginning for me each year because I teach, so it's time for new experiences, new looks to try and new faces to meet. And this year, joining the ranks of NEW experiences, I will be having one in my digital job, as well. This past year has brought on many changes for me and me designing career, most ending in a door closing and another opening. Well, it's time for another one to close and rightfully another to open. Digital Dandelions, though still in its baby stage, will be closing at the end of this month. The owner of the store has decided that it's too much to handle and I was actually offered to take it off her hands. I thought long and hard about it because I could see the potential of this "baby" but when I got down to being really honest with myself and my time, I realized that it would just be too much to handle juggling a store and my teaching career. AND let's not forget that I have a family who gets too little of my time as it is, so it really wasn't an option to buy the store.

Since no one has offered to buy, Digital Dandelions, we are going to have to close up shop. With that said, I am not ready to hang up my mouse yet. I still love designing and I want to continue doing it, so I have found a NEW home. AND this place is just AMAZING!! It's a place that I will for sure be staying for the long haul. It's well-known for it's talented line-up of designers, many of which have been there for YEARS, even starting their successful careers there.

So, where is this said amazing store?? You'll have to wait and see...I debut there Oct. 1!! Stay tuned for the details.

Getting Settled

Our family is settling into our new home and new town and looking forward to starting a new school year soon. Besides unpacking and situating things at home, I have been getting my classroom ready to go, along with learning new curriculum. We've been enjoying our home's amazing view and spacious yard!! Here are a few photos at what I get to look forward to every morning! (these were taken with my phone so please excuse the quality...)




I'm hoping to be able to keep up with the digital stuff but for now, I need to focus on my family and me career. This isn't a "time to take a break" post...just taking a small step back for a moment so that I can get situated and settled. I will still pop in and post about my happenings so be sure to check back.

I did get asked to write an article for "Home is Where the Art Is" e-magazine put out by My Scrapbook Art, so be looking for that in their Sept. issue. I'll be back with more details later! :)

a day late...Wednesday DIY Project

Better late then never, right?! I am in LOVE with this project because again, it's functional, but it's also all about using something old to make something new....better yet, something that fully embraces that GO GREEN mentality! Check out these Easy Knit Produce Bags I found at Delia Creates' blog!!



She's got step-by-step instructions plus photos on how to make these super-cute, super-easy bags. I could see hauling my teaching stuff in them, too!! Be sure to check out the rest of her blog...this girl is amazing with the sewing machine. LOVE her projects..some easy and some not so much, but still inspiring enough that I want to try them! I can't wait until I have some time to make a couple of these..

Gosh I don't even remember when One Little Bird and I did our collaboration but it was/has been one of my most favorite collabs I did ever. However, all good things must come to an end, right?? SO, it's time for our kit, Tranquil, to say goodbye.

good intentions but life happens...

so why hasn't anyone come to hunt me down yet?? I told you all that you had permission if I didn't stay up with the Wed. DIY thing...lol. I had all of these GRAND intentions of doing some consistant posting on my poor, neglected blog, including the projects on Wed., but then suddenly life took a little turn (well, a big one, actually). Events have transpired for my family since I last posted and I have been a busy, busy bee preparing for it all. My husband and I have accepted jobs in a new town and will be moving at the end of this month!!! (can you hear my brain screaming about all of the work to do????)Our home has been here in Pocatello, Idaho for the last 17 years (minus one year in Texas squeezed in there) so this is really going to be a new adventure for our family. It's about 9 hours away from where we currently live, but it's still in Idaho...just at complete opposite ends. So in the last few weeks, we've been busy packing, getting the house ready and cleaning out our old classrooms, all in prep of starting this new adventure.

SO if I am missing in action, you know why. We will move there Aug. 1, which will then give us about 20 days to get unpacked and my classroom set up just in time to head back to school! SO what I thought was going to be a laid-back summer full of activities and projects is actually going to be a busy, stressful one instead. Don't get me wrong, I am beyond excited and know that this is going to be a good move for my family, but moving is sooooo stressful. We have moved numerous times...within this same city and that was stressful in itself, but this is transplanting our lives into a whole new one. I will still be around and may get to posting links to some projects I was going to try, but I for sure won't be able to MAKE them and show you my own version.
Thanks for the support and understanding...and wish me luck (and sanity) during this hectic, transitional time.

Today I had the privilege of participating in an act of service for a friend of mine. One of my team teachers leads a Relay for Life Team, in honor of her daughter who passed away a year and a half ago from Leukemia. We got together at a mini-golf course to sell burgers, raffle tickets and luminaries. We had a blast, raised some money and got a lot of sun! I even got to wear the mascot cow suit, trying to persuade people to join us! It felt good to be doing something significant for someone I care about! I hope you get the chance to try it...there's nothing better than that!

DIY--June 22

Today, I am sending you away!! LOL...to another blog that has an AMAZING project on it that is super easy, and has awesome instructions that I wouldn't dare try to duplicate.

This is a project for the kiddos...Paige would LOVE me for making this for her. PLUS she could use this instead of pulling out every chair and blanket in the house to make a fort...am I selfish for wanting to make this??
