Dramatic Black & White photo challenge

I love to participate in photo challenges and this is one I could do because I already had the perfect photo. Here's my take on the I Heart Faces Dramatic Black & White challenge for this week.




and here are my own personal tips on choosing a photo to get the best black and white edit...

1. Lighting is important. If you have some dramatic lighting going on in the photo, it will work really well for a black and white.
2. Texture, not just in the clothing, but in the scenery. When you have different "textures" in the photo, it adds a perfect contrasting effect in the photo. However, if you have too much going on in the background, it can seem confusing to the viewer.
3. Finally, Angle. Angle adds interest to the subject when you are shooting and when you combine the lighting, textures and creative angle all into one photo, you can get a stunning & dramatic black & white photo.

So, it's nearly New Product Tuesday at Little Dreamer Designs and with no mojo to go on over the weekend I wasn't able to get any new items in the store this week. However, I do have some photos to share. I think I am officially behind on P365. Life just gets going and I had EVERY good intention of sticking with it, but it was so hard with work, a family and designing. There's no way I'm quitting, but I'm just going to be okay with not getting caught up when I get behind. I'm giving myself permission to not stress about it. :)
