PURPLE please

It was the Relay for Life Kick-off today in Pocatello and we celebrated by wearing PURPLE!! The kids LOVe this day b/c they get to wear something other than their uniform shirts.... and they can wear JEANS!! This is such a rarity that everyone (including teachers) get really excited about it. :) It's all part of our Paint the Town Purple event, where businesses see who can be the most "purple." We came up the idea of wearing all purple because we felt it was more "eco-friendly" to wear purple instead of use paper to decorate. Plus, dress-up days are just plain FUN! :) When the judges came to see our school, almost 300 kids dressed in purple were "decorating" our school and doing the wave. It was awesome!! Last year, we won and were on the news. It was pretty exciting for the kids. We're crossing our fingers that we win again this year!! The actual Relay for Life will take place in June, but this event gets everyone thinking about it.

Do you want to learn some hybrid techniques? Jessica Sprague (a fellow Creating Keepsakes Hall of Famer) is offering a FREE class on creating something for your paper pages.

Using BOTH Microsoft Word (which I know you already have, no excuses!) and Adobe Photoshop Elements, you wil learn to add a journaling block and a punchable accent to a paper page. All you need are a few paper supplies and the cool free video class, and 15 minutes of your time to begin. Check it the details {HERE}

Here's the Digi Dare for this week...
Remember, when you play, you get a coupon from the featured sponsor, PLUS you have the chance of winning gift cards to the sponsors' stores.

Scott took Paige to the circus last night. I didn't feel like going (too tired and worn down) and Jessica refused to go because she thinks that it's cruelty to animals. Ash had soccer practice, so it was just dad and Paige. She had loads of fun. It's funny though..they always sucker people in by claiming "kids are free." When you get there, it costs $20 for one adult and then they get you more by offering these cool toys that cost an arm and a leg. PLUS they offer rides on the animals and that's another 5-10 bucks. So Scott walked away spending easily $50...think if you had a large family and went! YIKES!! I snagged some photos from the online newspaper gallery...wish I could take such great photos.

{yep, that's Paige up there...the journalist snagged one of her!!}
Have a great weekend!! I'm off to a surprise Bday party...can't say who b/c that person may be reading my blog...not likely but there's a slight chance so better to be safe than sorry!! :P
