I'm sitting here sipping on coffee at 5:30 in the morning. I thought I would be brilliant and head to Walmart for the Black Friday sale...only for a laptop and a 32" TV. I got there at 4:00...the sale started at 5:00. I stood in line for 20 min. before a Walmart employee realized that I was there. "Mam, I'm sorry but we already gave out all of the tickets...we filled our quota," he stated...to which I replied, "Any luck on getting a golden ticket?" I got the hell out of there fast. I didn't even want to know if the TV's quota had been filled. It was pure craziness in that store. By the time I left, parking lots from businesses across the street where being filled with Walmart customers. People had panic stricken faces, as they realized that they didn't get there "soon enough." So. Now I sit, sipping my coffee and, although I am realllyyy bummed about not getting that laptop, I am happy to have escaped the risk of being trampled down by crazy people. :) As I was leaving, some young girls, still high from their pie, saw me passing by them and I overheard one of them say, "aw..that lady looks sad." I wanted to turn back to her and say, "No, honey. This is what happens to people who think that they can "beat the game" by getting up at 3:40 in the moring, who brave the cold, fight for a shopping cart, all whithout a cup of coffee!"
So, SINCE I'm awake, I'll take this time to share with you something exciting that I've been planning!! Join me for my 25 Days of Christmas celebration!! :)

Everyday, will be something special...from freebies to giveaways, how-to's and inspiration. Be sure to check out my blog EVERYDAY to see what I have in store for you!
Tuesday, Dec. 1 will be the kick-off. :)
AND just because I'm feeling so loopy from my lack of sleep, I decided to mark down some items in the store for you...in honor of Black Friday. By the way, does that have anything to do with the black circles under my eyes from getting up so early?? These items will be marked down for the weekend!!

Happy SHOPPING...be sure to check back in the next day or so for MORE exciting news...I have an announcement that I'm completely STOKED about!! :)

This story makes me feel so much better. I woke up at 2:30, thought about a Walmart laptop, stayed awake until after 4 and then finally fell back asleep. I assume I would have been too late at 4:30 so that makes me feel better for not having tried at all. Sigh.
I didn't know you had to get a ticket... these sales are crazy... go get some rest and enjoy the weekend :)
Oh, bummer! I don't have the energy to get in the stores for the sales.. I much prefer online shopping on Black Friday! I can't wait for the 25 days of Christmas! :)
...maybe you should live in our area...or I should rephrase that! I was visiting my in-laws and had to run to Wally World around 5:15 am and noticed all the vehicles, but still didn't think any of it. Needless to say, I walked in and got what I needed (including some door-busting deals I couldn't pass on) within 20 minutes! Now if I had tried this in our town, let alone the bigger metro cities north of us, then, and only then it would've been a totally different story! *lol* I did end up going back to bed because I took my allergy med and well, the rest was history!
