jack of all trades...and making a house a home

so my husband decided to be ambitious (and frugal). We wanted a wooden dog house for Brandy but they were in the hundreds to buy...YIKES! SO, Scott looked up instructions on the net and went to Lowes to get his supplies. He spent all day and night creating a little home for Brandy. I was pretty impressed...he's my Jack of all trades...Scientist byday, carpenter by night (or at least this night). He painted it today and added shingles...I'll have to take some pictures and post them later.

Ashley was SOOO proud of it all...that her dad was cool enough to use power tools. She made the comment how our neighbors started a dog house over a week ago and they still have not finished it...it only took her dad a day!!

I have been meaning to do a layout about the fun little things that I purchases recently to make my house a home. I never had the chance to really do this up to this point. Kids, School and Life always took priority over the "fun" things, like home decor. So when I received my Hall of Fame check in the mail, I took a trip up to Utah to a store called Tai'Pan...home decor HEAVEN (for those on a budget)!!! A blissful 1 hour and $300 later, I had loads of fun stuff for a good start to making my house a home.
