HAPPY Monday! I had a blissful day of relaxing and shopping. I decided that I needed to take a day off from school. I'm working on my anxiety...anxiety of taking a day off. I used to think that in order for me to take a day off of teaching, it needed to be for a DAMN good reason...like being sick or one of the kiddos being sick. But today, I took a day off. just because. because I needed it! I spent the day just chilling and doing some things that I love most. My day started with getting the girls up for school and actually being being calm about it...no hollering at them because the stress of me getting ready and getting out the door on time can throw me over the edge sometimes. I packed Paige a nutritious lunch because I had time to prepare it. I did her hair, made sure she had all of her homework in her folder and found all of her necessary outer-wear items (gloves, hat, etc.). She has a way of exploding when she comes home, so being able to find them all without stress was priceless. We headed out the door with me in an unfamiliar ZEN-like mood. After I put together the sub plans and corresponding books together at school, I headed out to 5th St. Bagelry for some coffee, a bagel breakfast sandwich and some magazine time. After that, I headed to the thrift store...two actually. I found a few great items that I'm excited about...things that I've recently started collecting (recently as in TODAY) :P Actually, I have admired them for some time but never really invested any money in them until today. Check out my thrift store finds:

When I got home, I took some photographs of my new finds. By the time I got them uploaded and edited, it was time to pick up the kids. All in all, it was a fabulous day and I enjoyed taking some time off for me. :)

My niece and I just began collecting milk glass-how funny you are too! For comparison sake, what did you pay for the white goblet? We are in OH and are exploring what our top dollar is!
Wow! I did the same thing. I took the day off and tried not to feel guilty about it. But I needed it and got alot done.
Tracy, I paid $1 at one thrift store for one of the the white goblets (there are two in the photo) and $3 at another thrift store. Funny that I found two identical pieces at two completely different stores, huh?! :) I'm actually thinking now (with more searching) that the blue dish is also milk glass...what do you think??
so beautiful leora, all the vintage finds and your new set of templates!
oh L, we sure need a ME day once in awhile, it's good for the soul!
I have a small milk glass collection, my favorite pieces are cake plates (will have to get a shot of those for you to see) and I luv your camera finds too!
seems like it was a wonderful day!
