Facials and Cold Sores

I was given one of the BEST gifts that a teacher could get for Christmas from one of my students...a Spa Gift card to Studio 145!! Seeing how I rarely get to splurge on such things, I deliberated for DAYS on which spa indulgance I should get. There was the Deluxe Facial: "Cleansing of the Skin. While Steaming, enjoy a hand massage, facial massage, shoulder massage customized mask and either a scalp or foot massage. Finish off with a moisturizer and sunscreen."
There was also the Body Wrap which helps to hydrate and detoxify your skin...allowing you to lose a couple of inches.
I went with the Deluxe Facial...and HOLY SMACK...if you have never experienced a facial before, you are missing out! It was so relaxing and it did wonders for my skin. When I got home, I walked in the door and asked everyone how I looked. Ashley said, "The same." Scott said, "Your face looks kinda shiny...like your glowing." WHOA, back up there...did Scott really just use the word "Glowing?" I was pretty impressed with his statement and knew that the facial must have done *something* for my skin to warrant the use of that word from Scott. I'm sold...I will now be getting facials as much as I can afford! :) It will be my little splurge whenever I can get it.

Cold Sores are one of the bad side affects that I have in the winter...I HATE them. My sister gave me a tip, though. She uses Corona Ointment to get rid of them FAST! I tried it, too so I know it works!
The funny thing is, I bought some Abreva yesterday to give it a try..couldn't find any of that ointment at Fred Meyer. It cost my $15 smakeroos for a tiny 2 gram tube. I have been using it consistantly and it looks like my cold sore is now spreading!! I will never waste my money on it again. The Corona ointment worked sooo much better and it's cheaper and comes with waaaayyyy more of it.

so..there you go...two tips to help alleviate your winter blues.

OH and I was asked to do another weekend challenge on the Creating Keepsakes website.
I think it will be next weekend when it's posted...check it out here.
You can also download a free tag that I made for the Feb. issue here.

Here's a preview of the layout:

Ooooooooh, I've never had a facial and you're making me SO jealous! What a fabulous gift! Wow! Not so wow on the cold sores... my sister and dad get them all the time. Luckily for me (and my family!) they're the only two so inflicted! :) Thanks for the heads-up on the CK challenge and GREAT layout... as usual! You're a continual inspiration!
